Last week, I had occasion to drive through the town of Dalry on business and I suddenly remembered that's where The Treasures of Drumory all began. Well, the cemetery to be precise. So on the way back through the town I stopped off there and took some pictures of the spot where the grave digger's son had come upon me sunbathing during my lunch break and asked me to tell him a story....
Yesterday, it occurred to me that this nostalgic moment was actually 30 years exactly from when it all began. How cool was that - I'd never been back before that. Strange how things like that happen in life. God, I'm getting old....

The biggest problem is publicity: it costs!!!!! The big traditional publishing houses once cringed for dear life, fearing that the self publishing industry was going to explode and sink them for good. Whilst it's true the industry has exploded, very few authors are having their work recognised because they don't have the money to publicise their works in the traditional sense - that includes yours truly. Not that I'm out of the picture altogether, I'm working on a project that might generate sufficient funds to make me one of the exceptions so watch this space!
